Excessive or unsightly body hair can
present a significant problem for both men and
women. Many find depilatories, shaving, plucking,
waxing, and electrolysis uncomfortable,
time-consuming and yielding only temporary results.
Laser therapy on the other hand is gentle, safe,
long lasting and non-invasive. It leaves the skin
smoother and silkier.
Pulsed Light hair removal works by
emitting pulses of intense light into the hair
follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in
the follicles and converted to heat. The heat then
loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible
for growing new hair. The StarLux system by Palomar
gives a rapid hair reduction with less discomfort
and less treatment time than pre-existing products
and at a cost that is more affordable to the doctor
and the patient.
This laser is considered the
“Gold Standard” for hair removal and allows us to treat the

Three to five treatments are required to reach significant
permanent hair reduction but improvement is seen after the
first treatment. Treatments are usually recommended to occur
at a monthly or six week interval.
